Neighbors' Fight Escalates Into Fatal Valley Shooting: LAPD
One man was repeatedly shot in Sherman Oaks Monday, and his neighbor was arrested on suspicion of murder.
SHERMAN OAKS, CA — Police are investigating the shooting death of a man in Sherman Oaks Monday morning as a possible dispute between two neighbors over a noise complaint.
The shooting occurred at about 3:15 a.m. at an apartment complex in the 14600 block of Moorpark Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The alleged shooter, Hadis Haile, 42, called police after repeatedly shooting his neighbor and was arrested on suspicion of murder, according to LAPD Officer Melissa Podany. Raymond Howard, 78, died at the scene according to the LAPD.
"Officers responded to a radio call of shots fired," Podany said. "When they arrived, they observed the victim laying on the ground inside of his apartment."

Howardsuffered multiple bullet wounds and died at the scene. According to KTLA, Howard was known among neighbors for being noisy.
Haile told police he was involved in an argument with the victim, Podany said.

"It appears they were neighbors," she said.
Detectives recovered a weapon registered to Haile and arrested him on suspicion of murder.
