Northridge Chick-Fil-A Closes Temporarily After 4 COVID Diagnoses

A Chick-Fil-A in Northridge closed for a week after four of its employees were diagnosed with COVID-19.

NORTHRIDGE, CA — A Chick-fil-A restaurant in Northridge shut down last week after four of its employees were diagnosed with COVID-19. It has since reopened.

The Chick-fil-A at the Devonshire-Reseda Shopping Center said that it chose to shut down for a week to deep clean and disinfect after the diagnoses. An employee said that the location reopened Monday, but only for drive-thru.

“Our highest priority is the health and well-being of our Team Members and Guests,” Chick-fil-A, Inc. told Patch in a statement. “After learning that Team Members at Chick-fil-A Devonshire & Reseda were diagnosed with COVID-19, the restaurant temporarily closed and took precautionary measures, including disinfecting and deep cleaning the restaurant. Safe service is our top priority and our restaurants continue to follow CDC and local health department guidelines.”

The corporate website says that restaurants are installing new handwashing stations and are asking their employees to wear gloves wash their hands every 30 minutes. The company said that guests at drive-thru locations will swipe their own credit cards, and are encouraged to pay through the company’s mobile app.
