Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Vehicle In Granada Hills

NORTHRIDGE, CHATSWORTH — A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed Tuesday in Granada Hills, and a person was detained for questioning, police said.

The pedestrian died at the scene of the crash, which was reported at 4:48 a.m. at Chatsworth Street and Petit Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. No information was available on the identity of the fatally injured person.

According to a report from the scene, the motorist left the location, was followed by a good Samaritan, and got into a different vehicle, then was taken into custody by police at a convenience store.

According to police, the person was detained for questioning, but was not immediately arrested, and the case remains under investigation.
