Pedestrian Killed In Pacoima Hit-And-Run, Police Say

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene Friday night.

PACOIMA, CA — A 54 year-old pedestrian died when he was struck by a vehicle in Pacoima, authorities said today.

The crash was reported at 9:30 p.m. Friday in an alley east of Remick Avenue north of Osborne Street, said Los Angeles police Officer Rosario Cervantes.

The driver of the vehicle left the scene without stopping to render assistance, Cervantes said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, she said. His name was withheld pending notification of relatives.

A reward of up to $50,000 is available to anyone who provides information leading to the identification, apprehension and conviction of hit- and-run motorists or resolution through civil compromise. Anyone with information should call detectives at the LAPD's Valley Traffic Division at 818- 644-8000.
