Person Jumps From LA Freeway Overpass
A person jumped from a freeway overpass in the San Fernando Valley Wednesday afternoon.
GRANADA HILLS, CA — A person was hospitalized after jumping from an overpass onto the 118 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley Wednesday afternoon.
The incident began at around 2 p.m. when authorities responded to reports of a person who was threatening to jump from the Balboa Boulevard overpass onto the freeway, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The California Highway Patrol shut down all lanes of the freeway in the area in response to the LAFD's request.

"Unfortunately, the patient did complete their jump and is being transported to a local hospital in unknown condition," the LAFD said.
The freeway reopened by 3 p.m., though traffic remained backed up on the eastbound freeway between Balboa Boulevard and Porter Ranch Drive, according to a Sigalert.
