Police Arrest Alleged Gas Station Shooter After 4-Hour Manhunt

Residents in Mission Hills were told to shelter in place while police searched for a man suspected of opening fire at a nearby gas station.

MISSION HILLS, CA — Police in Mission Hills arrested a man suspected of opening fire at a gas station after an argument and fleeing through nearby neighborhoods. The manhunt lasted nearly four-hours.

Witnesses reported shots fired at 1:50 a.m. at a a gas station at Devonshire Street and Woodman Avenue. When police arrived, they learned that a suspect had gotten into an argument and fired at the ground, according to Los Angeles police Sgt. George Diaz.

Officers set up a perimeter around the area of San Jose Street and Lemona Avenue to search for the shooter him, Diaz said.

Officers used police dogs to capture the suspect, said Officer Christopher No with the Media Relations Section.

The suspect was considered armed and dangerous and residents were told to stay indoors while officers searched for the man, said Diaz.
