Police Exchange Gunfire With Woman At Burning Chatsworth Home
One person was hospitalized in the police-involved shooting.
CHATSWORTH, CA — Los Angeles Police were involved in a shooting at a home in Chatsworth Friday afternoon where an armed woman reportedly set a house on fire.
Shortly before 2 p.m., police were called to respond to a dispute in the 9600 block of North Laramie Avenue, said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Charles Miller. Police arrived on the scene, and an officer-involved shooting occurred, he confirmed.
One person was taken into custody after police arrived and exchanged fire with a woman at the burning home, KTLA reported.

Firefighters were forced to hold back while police took the suspect into custody.
Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters were eventually able to knock down the in about 20 minutes, said Margaret Stewart, the department's spokeswoman.

Fire officials said one person was taken to a hospital in unknown condition with unspecified injuries, but it was unclear if that person was the suspect involved in the shooting with police.
