Police Searching For Fatal Hit & Run Suspects

Police are soliciting community help to find the driver and his passenger in Tuesday's fatal hit and run accident in North Hills.

NORTHRIDGE, CA — Police are searching for the motorist and his passenger in a fatal hit and run accident that occurred in North Hills Tuesday morning, according to the Los Angeles Police Department's Valley Traffic Division.

One woman was killed and three other people were hospitalized with injuries, according to KABC. The driver and the passenger of the Range Rover that caused the accident were seen getting out of the car and fleeing the scene. The car was later determined to be stolen, KABC reported.

The accident happened at 5:20 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Hayvenhurst Avenue and Nordhoff Street when a speeding Range Rover ran a red light, causing a three-car accident, police said.

Police are offering a $50,000 reward for the suspects. Police identified both suspects as male, and included identifying information in a Facebook post.

Police are also still searching for the driver in a Friday's fatal hit and run on Tampa Street and Plummer Street in Northridge. The pedestrian killed in the accident was identified as 24-year-old Leonil Chavez.
