Porter Ranch Man Gets 25 to Life for the Murder of His Girlfriend
A 45-year-old man who murdered his girlfriend and attempted to kill himself after a police standoff has been sentenced to prison.

PORTER RANCH, CA - A 45-year-old Porter Ranch man was sentenced to 25-years to life in prison Monday for shooting his girlfriend to death.
Joseph Defalco pleaded no contest last week, to second-degree murder in the 2013 death of 52-year-old Ann Risa Suggs, his girlfriend of 20 years.
According to the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office, Defalco shot Suggs in the head twice and then shot himself after a five-hour standoff with police. The couple had been living with each other in their Porter Ranch home on the 19000 block of Kenya Street for two years prior to the murder.
