Protesters Gather Outside Porter Ranch Home Of LAPD Chief
Footage showed protesters taping signs to Moore's doorway and chanting derogatory slogans.
PORTER RANCH, CA — Activists took their protest to Los Angeles Police Department Chief Michel Moore's doorstep Thursday as dozens made their way into his gated Porter Ranch community for a “Die-In” and attached anti-police posters to his home.
The demonstration was staged by members of the Black Future Project. It's the latest in a summer of protests against police brutality in which city leaders have been targeted where they live. A similar effort targeting District Attorney Jackie Lacey's home ended with her husband charged with assault for allegedly brandishing a gun at the protesters.
Moore did not confront the protesters Thursday. Instead, he could be seen using a power washer to spray down his home after the protesters left.

The protest occurred Thursday evening, and video posted to social media showed members of Black Future Project using duct tape to attach signs to Moore's garage, front door and walkway while other members shouted derogatory slogans. Protesters also wrote messages in chalk along his driveway.
SURPRISE ACTION: Protesters with the activist organization Black Future Project made flyers for a protest at DA Jackie Lacey’s house, but in a switch, the group is now at LAPD Chief Michael Moore’s house to stage a Die-In.

It is unclear how the group was able to enter Moore’s gated community.

Among the signs left behind were some reading "Defund LAPD Now," "Fire Chief Moore" and "No Justice No Peace."
"He is the chief of LAPD, the most brutal police force in the nation," shouted one protester. "He makes $500,000 plus a year to instruct people to racially profile and kill black people. He lives right here. He is a murderer."
The home visit comes after days of protests following the Sunday shooting of Jacob Blake in the back by police officers in Kenosha, Wisconsin. 10 protesters were arrested Wednesday night in clashes with LAPD officers in Third Street Tunnel, where officers fired non-lethal rubber bullets.
Though there was no permanent damage done to the home, a protester broke a lamp on Moore's driveway as the group left, The Beverly Hills Courier reported.
No arrests were reported, but a vandalism report was taken.
