Rose Affair - Learn More About The Roses You Love
The day includes speakers: Dr. Tommy Cairns, Alice Hart and Dave & Suzanne Bassani. Enjoy a workshop on making a dried rose garland.
Join us this Saturday for our first ever ‘Rose Affair’! We will have several speakers and they are thrilled to share their passion for Roses with you. We will even have a workshop on how to make a dried rose garland. It will be a very exciting day, starting at 10am.
No reservation required, free parking at rear of store off Jordan Ave.
We are pleased to present David Bassani from the San Fernando Rose Society who will discuss rose selection, planting, seasonal care, feeding, disease and insect control, rose recipes (cooking with roses, teas) aspects what of a rose show judge looks for, roses in arrangements, etc.
Also, we will have a class on how to use dried roses to make garland!
In addition, we will have several speakers throughout the day that you won’t want to miss.

Dr. Tommy Cairns, he has written 12 books on roses, he is the past president of the World Rose Federation, past president of the American Rose Society, founding president of several local rose societies, director of the international Rose Trials Garden based at Rose Hills. Dr. T has won all of the highest awards that the world of roses has to offer nationally and internationally. He is a world class exhibitor. Dr. T. gives instructions to some of the judges for floats for the Tournament of Roses in Pasadena. He has instructed and supervised planting of major rose gardens both locally and distantly. Etc. etc.
Alice Hart has won every award in her profession as a food stylist. Alice is ‘Food for Film’. The American Rose Society has just awarded Alice the Silver Medal for excellence. She is a top exhibitor. Alice is Chairman of Judges for the pacific Southwest Region of the American Rose Society. Instructor for the Consulting Rosarian School and Judging Schools for the American Rose Society.
Suzanne Bassani is a Horticultural Judge and exhibitor, past Rose Show Chair, and a botanical artist.
David Bassani is past president of the San Fernando Valley Rose Society, current president of the Beverly Hills Rose Society, a Consulting Rosarian, Horticulture Judge, 20 years writing a gardening column, a gardening consultant, a Licensed Landscape Contractor.
