Stolen Truck Versus Police: Chase Runs Through Chatsworth

A man is in custody after allegedly stealing a pickup truck and leading officers all over the West Valley in a car chase.

CHATSWORTH, CA — A man who allegedly stole a pickup truck was taken into custody in West Hills following a pursuit.

Los Angeles Police Department units began pursuing the man driving a white Chevrolet Silverado truck about 4:55 p.m. in the area of Osborne Street and San Fernando Road in the Pacoima area, police said.

The suspect led officers onto the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway, then onto the westbound Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway into Granada Hills.

The man exited the freeway on Topanga Canyon Boulevard in the Chatsworth area and led police to West Hills before abruptly turning onto a side street and surrendering to police about 5:25 p.m.

The man was taken into custody without further incident. His name was not immediately released.
