Street Racing May Have Caused Massive 8-Car Crash In Reseda

Los Angeles Police are investigating the cause of an eight-car wreck that shut down Saticoy Street in Reseda.

RESEDA, CA — Eight cars were totaled in a massive wreck in Reseda, and Los Angeles Police are investigating the role street racing may have played in the crash. Three people were injured, including one in critical condition, and authorities arrested two people in connection with the crash, ABC7 Reported.

The crash happened at about 8:30 p.m., prompting the closure of Saticoy Street between Wilbur and Yolanda avenues. The crash started with two cars heading west on Saticoy. One of the drivers clipped a van, losing control, and the second vehicle slammed into several cars parked along the sidewalk, ABC7 reported. One driver attempted to flee on foot but community members held the driver until police arrived, the station reported.

Police did not say how long the intersection would stay closed, nor did they announce what the drivers were arrested for.
