Suit Claims Virility Pills With Viagra Sold In Valley Minimarts

A lawsuit alleging false advertising and unfair practices claims Valley gas stations are selling enhancement pills that contain Viagra.

NORTHRIDGE, CA — Men taking enhancement supplements purchased at San Fernando Valley mini-marts may be getting more than they bargained for. According to a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, some virility pills contain toxic substances along with sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra. The suit filed on behalf of male enhancement pill competitors alleges false advertising and unfair competition.

According to the Los Angeles Daily News, the suit names 13 Valley Shell stations, with the retailers being targeted because many of the distributors are challenging to pin down.

A lawyer for the firm that filed the lawsuit told the newspaper independent testing found sildenafil in various products, ranging from 14 to 75 milligrams compared to the typical Viagra dose of 25 milligrams. The company has filed similar suits across the nation.

Shell issued a statement indicating the oil company is not a party to the suit.

“There is an epidemic of these falsely labeled male enhancement products being sold in retail outlets dispersed across Los Angeles, attorney Robert Tauler, whose L.A. firm Tauler Smith LLP told the Daily News. “What we have, as detailed in the complaint, are certain suppliers who may or may not be misleading these retail outlets into thinking that these products are perfectly legitimate...However, all the products have been tested by the FDA and been found to contain sildenafil. They’ve also been found to contain, believe it or not, antidepressants, lead, arsenic.”
