Summer is Here ... And So Are Public Pools

54 city pools, including the ones in Granada Hills and Northridge, are officially open today.

54 city-run summer pools are open starting today through August, including the pools in Northridge, 10058 Reseda Blvd., and Granada Hills, 16730 Chatsworth St..

Hours are subject to change, but the park's Web site says open swim time at both pools is scheduled for 1- 5 p.m. on weekends and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday through July 3. The hours change on July 4 and again on August 22.

There are also plenty of organized activities, such as Novice Swim Team, Inner-Tube Water Polo, Novice Synchronized Swimming and plenty of swimming lessons, as well as scheduled lap time. (See the attached PDF for all details).

Open swim time is free for kids and seniors and $2.50 for adults ($2 with a library card).
