Suspicious Device Sends Bomb Squad To LAPD's Devonshire Station

A police bomb squad investigated a suspicious package found at the LAPD's Devonshire station.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A device left Wednesday at the front desk of a Los Angeles Police Department station in Northridge, prompting a bomb squad call- out, turned out to be some kind of firework.

The item was left about 1:25 p.m. at the Devonshire Station at 10250 Eiwanda Ave., according to Officer Rosario Herrera of the LAPD's Media Relations office.

The bomb squad determined about 3:35 p.m. that the device was some kind of firework, police said.

The station was not evacuated, according to the LAPD.
