Valley Urgent Care Launches "Unsung Hero" Award; Seeks Candidates
Community Members Doing Good Works Sought For Monthly Honor

Not a day goes by that someone doesn’t do something extraordinary for their fellow man. Maybe they entered a burning house and saved a life, stopped a burglary in progress, used CPR to resuscitate someone in distress, intervened as a child was being bullied or cleaned up the property of an elderly neighbor. If you or someone you know fits the bill, Valley Urgent Care in Northridge is launching its “Unsung Heroes” award. Each month, one individual will be honored with a plaque and gift card to Maggiano’s Little Italy for a celebratory meal, announced Bardia Anvar, M.D., founder and medical director of Valley Urgent Care.
“We encounter heroes everyday at the clinic and most of them receive little if any thanks for what they have done,” said Anvar. “We decided that these outstanding individuals deserve some public recognition for what they did.
“With our TV newscasts and newspapers reporting on all of the grim stories of the day, we hope to generate some positive news,” he continued. “Perhaps by shining the spotlight on these everyday heroes, we will be inspired by their actions.”
