Veterans Day Celebration

Veterans Day Celebration at Lawrence Middle School Monday, November 10, 2014 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

The students, staff and PTSA would like to extend an invitation to all of you and have you join us for our annual Veterans Day program at Lawrence Middle School, 10100 Variel Avenue, Chatsworth. A welcome to Veterans and their families begin in our Library from 10:30 -11:15 with a Social hour. Here, Veterans and family will visit memorablia and histories of Veterans and share their own memories. At 11:15 begins the Parade of Veterans into our MPR through the students, faculty and staff in attendance. The program will begin with the Color Guard from the Cleveland High School ROTC cadets. The Lawrence Band will perform a medley of patriotic songs as Mr. Schar, the Principal of Lawrence will welcome the Veterans and guests. Ms. Tree’s 7th grade class will be performing a short skit; Veterans Past and Present will be honored. Special guests will include members of Wings over Wendys; members of Sepulveda Care Facility; members of the 261st Combat Communications Squadron; Elks members from the Metropolitan District and many more. Following a Taps solo and retiring of the colors, a light lunch will be served to the Veterans and their guests by the Leadership students and their advisors Ms. Pena and Mr. Van Dam, the Tech crew and advisor Mr. Sellz; the PTSA and Marsha Minassian.
