Security Robot Benefits. Security robots can do things that we humans can't. With built-in sensors, they can detect dangerous toxins or smoke in the air. They can use facial recognition to spot potential shoplifters or other criminals. They can scan license plates and provide high definition video of a crime in progress.

What Robots Can't Do. Robots can't replicate the human interaction that's so important to overall security. Unlike robots, human security guards create critical connections with the people they meet. When necessary, they can physically detain criminals caught in the act. They deter crime by their physical presence and play a vital role in case of an emergency.

Working Together. Expect security robots to become commonplace in many locations—not to replace human security guards but as a compliment to what security guards do. By bringing these two together, security plans will contain an advanced technology, artificial intelligence component as well as the all-important human element.
