Woman Airlifted From Chatsworth Park South Recreation Area​

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, a hiker suffered an injury and had to be hospitalized Friday.

CHATSWORTH, CA — Firefighters rescued an injured hiker described as an "elderly" woman in Chatsworth Friday afternoon.

The woman had to be hoisted by helicopter to safety after she suffered an injury while hiking on her own near the near Chatsworth Park South Recreation Area, according to Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters were called to rescue the hiker around 1 p.m. to the 3300 block of Mesa Drive, said Prange.

Because of the unspecified injury, the woman was unable to walk out of the area on her own, and she was transported to a hospital for treatment, he added.
