Worker Stabbed While Taking Out Trash At Valley Supermarket
The stabbing occurred late Tuesday night.
SHERMAN OAKS, CA — A Pavilions employee was stabbed in the back while taking out the trash behind the Sherman Oaks grocery store Tuesday night, authorities said.
The stabbing occurred around 10:55 p.m. at the Pavilions at 14845 Ventura Blvd., about five blocks west of Van Nuys Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The employee was taking garbage to the rear of the shopping center when a man followed him down an elevator. The man then stabbed the worker in the lower back and fled in an unknown vehicle, ABC 7 reported.

The victim was taken to a hospital with stable vital signs, police said. He is expected to recover, according to the station.
Police described the suspect as a man wearing glasses. No additional suspect description was immediately available.

"The safety of our associates and customers is our top priority," an Albertsons representative said in a statement. "We are aware of the incident that occurred outside our store and are focused on supporting our associate. Because this is an active investigation, we cannot provide additional details at this time."
