3 Novato Businesses Busted for Selling Alcohol to Minors

Undercover operation part of Novato PD's ongoing efforts to reduce teen drinking

Three Novato businesses were cited for selling alcohol to minors during a sting carried out Saturday by Novato police.

An 18-year-old minor decoy was sent into 23 local businesses and attempted to purchase alcohol. Most of the business asked to see an ID and when the decoy didn’t have one, refused to sell beer and other alcoholic beverages to the minor.

But Ignacio Wine and Spirits, Sonoma Latina Grill and Brown’s Binyard all sold alcohol to the minor, resulting in citations.
