Eric- thanks-please comment on these issues.   First, people are concerned, worried about SB1
and eminent domain- and having higher densities and traffic placed on
properties and streets that a non-elected body might designate.  Perhaps  the Novato Council could form a letter
objecting to this policy as inappropriate for our city.  Secondly, there are concerns about Friedman’s
(similar to a Lowe’s) store across the railroad tracks near Trader Joes as
being an anchor store for the new mall.
Would a Lowe’s be better  or a
Best Buy for that matter  and what really
would be the financial benefit gained? 50-60thousand in money for the
city?  What is the figure?  Remember, Goodman’s  as a small home depot could not make it –what
are the reasons that a larger home repair store will?  Finally, the need to fix Novato’s underfunded
pension liabilities is important and when is a good time for the city to
address this with a public workshop?   Again, thanks for your weekly address to involve the public.
