NOVATO, CA — Two horses were found roaming a Novato neighborhood early Wednesday morning, prompting a response from Novato police officers with a rather specialized skill set.
The pair of Arabian-Cross horses were spotted on Wednesday near Mill Road and Santa Maria Drive, where Corporal Houser and Dispatcher Adam — both experienced with horses — were able to corral and secure the animals.
"As our resident equestrians, they utilized their tactical horse-whispering skills and safely secured the pair," police said.
A nearby neighbor provided temporary shelter while the department works to locate the owner.
Anyone who recognizes them or knows who they belong to can call the Novato Police Department at 415-897-4361.
