Car Crashes Through Wall Of Popular Novato Restaurant: Police

The restaurant temporarily closed while crews assessed the damage, officials said.

NOVATO, CA — A car crashed into the music venue at HopMonk Tavern in Novato on Monday morning, damaging the building but causing no injuries, according to restaurant staff.

HopMonk management stated the crash happened around 9:30 a.m., when the driver of a sedan plowed through the west wall of its Session Room music venue.

"Luckily no one was injured," HopMonk management said in a social media post.

The restaurant initially closed while emergency crews assessed the damage, but said its tavern and beer garden operations were otherwise unaffected after Monday. The Session Room will remain closed until the damaged wall is repaired.

HopMonk also said all upcoming Cookout Concerts will take place as scheduled despite the damage.

Authorities have not released information about what caused the crash, and the incident remains under investigation.

"We love our community and again are thankful that no one was injured," HopMonk management stated.
