• Vegetation Fire Burning Along Highway In Novato: FD (patch.com) — Fire crews in and around Novato quickly stopped the forward progress of a roughly 4-acre vegetation fire that broke out Sunday evening along northbound Highway 101 near San Antonio Road. The blaze, dubbed the Petaluma Fire, burned between Novato and the WM Redwood Landfill and initially moved toward a nearby solar farm, prompting extra engines and a water tender to respond while officials investigated the cause.
   

• Marin teen explores health industry during Kaiser Permanente program (marinij.com) — A recent Novato High School graduate just spent his summer working full-time in Kaiser Permanente San Rafael's IT department through the KP LAUNCH internship, gaining hands-on tech and health-care exposure. His experience, including seeing a liver biopsy and building digital tools, has him eyeing both cybersecurity studies at Santa Rosa Junior College and possibly a future in medicine.
