MARIN COUNTY, CA — A joint DUI compliance operation by the Marin County Probation Department and Marin County Sheriff's Office resulted in three probation violations but no arrests, officials announced Wednesday.
The Sept. 18 operation focused on people under supervised probation and was intended to ensure they were following the terms and conditions of their probation.
Officials identified 35 people for potential contact, completed 26 field contacts and conducted 28 searches. Six people were not contacted and three additional contact attempts were made.
The operation included 27 chemical tests, with one alcohol test returning a positive result. Officials also verified six ignition interlock devices.
The three violations included possession of vehicle keys and failure to have a required ignition interlock device installed in a vehicle. No drug-related violations were identified, police said.
"The outcome of this operation reflects the importance of proactive supervision, clear expectations, and early intervention," said Edward Randle, interim chief probation officer. "Our role is to hold individuals accountable while providing the structure and support they need to make responsible decisions and successfully move forward."
The county said the operations are intended to promote public safety, reduce recidivism and ensure people on active probation remain compliant with court-ordered conditions.
