Leslie's Pool Supplies To Close Novato Store Amid Bankruptcy (patch.com) — Novato residents who rely on Leslie's Pool Supplies will soon lose their local store as the chain shutters eight Bay Area locations during a Chapter 11 bankruptcy restructuring. The company says remaining outlets and online sales will keep operating while it slashes debt by about 90 percent and aims to emerge from bankruptcy in early 2027.
2. Teen Posts Gun In Social Media Video, Arrested In Novato: Police (patch.com) — Novato police arrested an 18-year-old local resident after a detective saw a social media video showing him with what appeared to be a loaded handgun and high-capacity magazine. A probation search at his south Novato home, assisted by K-9 Koda, uncovered a firearm and loaded magazines hidden in a vehicle, leading to multiple firearm and marijuana-related charges.
3. A Major Sweep Just Led To 6 Arrests In Novato, Here's What Police Found (patch.com) — Novato police and state and county agencies just completed a sweep of people on parole and probation in town, resulting in six arrests and the seizure of drugs, paraphernalia, and a semi-automatic handgun. Several of those arrested are Novato residents, and all were booked into Marin County Jail for alleged supervision violations after compliance checks at multiple local locations.
4. Preps of the week: Redwood stays hot with win over Vintage (marinij.com) — Novato athletes feature prominently in this week's prep highlights, with Novato High's Zoie Halsing piling up kills and digs in a four-win volleyball week and San Marin hosting a major tournament at its Novato campus. Archie Williams shut out Novato in football, while Tam and other Marin schools notched big performances across volleyball, flag football, field hockey, water polo, and golf.
5. Foo Fighters' Chris Shiflett announces three-stop December Christmas run (themusicuniverse.com) — Foo Fighters guitarist Chris Shiflett is bringing his solo tour to Novato on December 16, kicking off a three-show California Christmas run at HopMonk Tavern. Local fans can expect a mix of country, Americana, and rock as he warms up for recording his next solo album, with additional dates in Templeton and Santa Barbara that same weekend.
