Arson Suspected in Novato Blazes

Novato fire officials say two small grass fires that occurred Friday afternoon are thought to have been arson.

The first fire, reported at 2:05 p.m. in Miwok Park near Oliva Court, burned one-eighth of an acre and was quickly controlled.

The second in O’Hair Park at San Marin Drive was reported at 2:09 p.m. and burned one-tenth of an acre, officials said.

Novato police are investigating the arsons and asking anyone with information to call (415) 897-4361 or the Tip Line at (415) 899-7032.
