David Stompe - New President Rotary Club Sunrise

Rotary Club of Novato Sunrise has a new President

David Stompe began a year of service as President of the Rotary Club of Novato Sunrise at the club’s regular Tuesday morning meeting on July 2.  The Stompe family moved to Novato in 1970 when David was five.  David graduated from San Marin HS in 1983 and attained a BS degree in Business Administration from California State University Sacramento.  He has been a licensed insurance agent since 1999, a Farmers Insurance Agent since 2006, and a Rotarian since 2007.  Since joining Rotary David has been an active member serving as Sargent at Arms and Public Relations Chair.  His two children are San Marin HS graduates; daughter Mary is finishing her BS in Biology at UCD and Michael will be starting Sonoma State in the fall with a focus on education.

David will preside during the Club’s 20th anniversary year.  The club intends to commemorate the anniversary by implementation a new service project focused on youth in Novato.

Locally, the Rotary Club of Novato Sunrise champions the Smoke Alarm Project which was awarded the Novato Fire District’s Heroes Among Us award for offering smoke alarm testing and replacement at each of the Novato mobile home parks as well as an Essay Contest for each Novato middle school and high school student to participate in.  Together with the other Novato Rotary clubs they support The Dictionary Project which ensures each third grader in Novato gets a new color dictionary each year.  Partnering with other clubs allows the support of other regional and worldwide projects.
