License Plate Readers Helps Novato Police Recover 2 Stolen Vehicles
Two recent cases reported.

Novato police have recovered two stolen vehicles in recent days using Automated License Place Readers.
The first case happened Saturday, when police recovered a gold 1994 Saturn SL sedan, which was reported stolen from the City of Richmond. It was found in the area of Green Oak Drive, at Marin Valley Drive.
The second case involved a vehicle reported stolen out of Novato, which was located parked in the area of 1430 Johnson Street. That one was found Sunday.

Both vehicles had been reported stolen on Christmas Day.
Novato police have five patrol vehicles equipped with Automated License Plate Readers.

The readers can be used to recognize license plates entered into a database and gather information that can assist with investigations, police said.
