MarinMOCA's Altered Book Workshop

Join the Bay Area Book Arts Scene by enrolling in this class on altered books. According to the International Society of Altered Book Artists (alteredbookartists.com), it’s “any book, old or new, that has been recycled by creative means into a work of art. They can be … rebound, painted, cut, burned, folded, added to, collaged in, gold-leafed, rubber stamped, drilled, or otherwise adorned…”

In this creative and engaging workshop you can learn these different techniques for decorating the page or transforming the book into a whole new piece of art. Class will begin by discussing content and ways to change the focus of the book, the story and the characters.
