Mayor's Weekly (Sept 8- Sept 14)
Novato's Mayor Eric Lucan shares city news, events and meetings on the horizon, and on occasion a few spontaneous thoughts.

On my Mind
I would like to congratulate 6th grade student Bodie Criswell who took over the mayoral duties this past Tuesday. Last school year Bodie won a “Mayor for the Day” experience at a school auction / fundraiser and this past Tuesday, September 9th, he stepped into office.
Along with Bodie’s family, we enjoyed a tour of the Novato Police Department where Bodie got to see dispatch in action, help calibrate a laser speed detector, and go for a short ride in a police car. Special thanks to the Novato Police Department and Officer Melissa Hinkle for pulling everything together.
We then headed over to Finnegan’s for a quick bite to eat before our Council Meeting and the whole team there provided a great experience for Bodie. Following dinner, we met in the Council Chambers where Mayor Bodie called the meeting to order and led the audience and those watching on TV in the pledge of allegiance. We all congratulated Mayor Bodie on a job well done and he concluded the day with a tour of the control room where the council meetings are broadcast on Novato Public Access.

Bodie Criswell made a great Mayor for the City of Novato and I am sure we will hear great things from him in the near future. Here are some pictures of Mayor Bodie as well as a brief video.
Around Town
Novato Historical Guild General Meeting – This past Saturday, the Novato Historical Guild held their general meeting and BBQ lunch at the Hamilton Field Museum. The food and social hour was great, but the highlight of the meeting was definitely hearing a presentation on the Women Airforce Service Pilots (known as WASP) who served during WWII. Pictures.

Ghilotti Construction Hits a Milestone – Congratulations to Ghilotti Construction on their 100th Anniversary. The celebration took place at the Buck Institute and not only was it a perfect setting for the event, but it served as an opportunity for individuals from all over the North Bay to learn about the great work being done at the Buck.
