SURVIVING DIVORCE

Divorce is a traumatic and sometimes unexpected experience, as many things
that we once held dear and dependable are gone from our lives. Men usually respond differently than women to this trauma, and are less likely to avail themselves of the resources and support that they need during and after a divorce. Anger and resentment tend to linger for divorcees, and both anxiety and depression can dominate their daily lives if they do not find a way to express their deeply held emotions and process their pain and suffering.

Surviving divorce is an opportunity to begin redefining our sense of self in the world while we go about the business of reinventing our lives. As we open up to our grief and depth of emotion, we also increase our capacity for joy and contact with others. It is possible to transform our surviving into thriving by coming to terms with the truth of our past and the purpose of our future.

This weekly group is facilitated by a psychotherapist who has personally experienced the trauma and

loss inherent in the separation and divorce of a long-term marriage, and who specializes in helping others to grow beyond divorce while finding pathways to reconnect with love, energy, and purpose. There are aspects of this journey that are best shared with others in a safe, sacred, and respectful environment.
