Novato Teen Cited for Hosting Party Where Minors Consumed Alcohol

A Novato teen was cited for violating the city’s social host ordinance and providing alcohol to minors at a party Tuesday night, police said Wednesday.

Novato police responded to a party complaint on Emerson Avenue at 10:18 p.m. Tuesday. During the subsequent investigation, officers learned that the party had involved alcohol being consumed by minors.

The host, 17, was cited and released to his father, according to police.

The suspect’s identity is being withheld due to his status as a minor.

The Novato Police Department says it strictly enforces alcohol regulations to ensure the safety of minors. More information about the social host ordinance is available at www.novato.org.
