Organic Spring Plant Sale at Indian Valley Organic Farm & Garden - April 18th, April 19th, and April 25th

Spring Plant Sale for home and community gardeners. Free gardening workshops and expert staff to answer questions. Kid-friendly activities!

Spring Plant Sale 2015 - TWO WEEKENDS! WHEN: April 18-19, and Saturday, April 25th—both weekends from 10 am to 3 pm

WHERE: Indian Valley Organic Farm & Garden, College of Marin Campus, Novato, CA located at 1800 Ignacio Blvd. Park in Lot 6 and walk up the bike path on the left to the farm. We will carry your plants to your car.

Program: Offering a variety of certified organic perennial and annual food plants with a special collection of heritage fruit trees and shrubs, herbs, flowers and native plants. Expert farm staff will be on hand to answer questions and offer advice on all of your gardening needs. Free gardening workshops, live music and face painting will also be part of the plant sale.

Saturday, April 18th, 11 am to 12 pm—Tour of the Plant Sale Inventory and Spring Gardening Tips with Wendy Johnson

Wendy Johnson, organic gardening mentor of 30 years, will take attendees on a walk through the inventory, describing ideal annual and perennial plants and crops for spring and summer production, including pollinators and easy-to-grow cutting flowers. She will also share planting, fertilization, irrigation and care tips for these plants.

Saturday, April 18th, 1 pm to 2 pm—Fruit for the Home Orchard with John Valenzuela

John Valenzuela, our amazing fruit tree mentor, will tantalize your taste buds with information on selecting, planting and caring for fruit trees and shrubs, with a special emphasis on fruit shrubs that grow well in partial shade conditions. He will also discuss how to establish these fruits to grow an ecosystem of abundance.

Sunday, April 19th, 11 am to 12 pm—Tomato Growing for the Tomato Lover with Liz Peer

Liz Peer, Marin Master Gardener and expert tomato grower, will share growing tips and answer questions about tomato growing, as well as discuss the traits of the 30 varieties of tomatoes available at the sale.
