Police: Aggressive Driver Arrested in Novato for Pointing Gun at Another Driver

Apparent road rage incident lands one in jail.

Novato police arrested an American Canyon man Wednesday on suspicion of pointing a handgun at another driver on state Highway 37.

Novato police received a call from the California Highway Patrol around 8:40 a.m. about a motorist who reported an aggressive driver pointed at gun at him.

The incident happened on Highway 37 at Atherton Avenue as both vehicles drove west into Novato, police said.

The suspect, identified as Timothy Massey, 28, of American Canyon, was driving aggressively, and when the other driver pulled alongside, Massey pointed a semi-automatic handgun at him, police said.

The driver followed Massey into Novato while providing the Novato police dispatcher with information about Massey’s location.

Massey was arrested at Oak Shade Lane and a handgun was found in his vehicle, police said.

He was booked in the Marin County jail for assault with a deadly weapon.
