The Quintessential Five, a young singing group from the Republic of Georgia, will be hosted by the San Marin Choirs Friday afternoon for a lunch and a cultural exchange. The Quintessential Five will be competing in the Harmony Sweepstakes Saturday May 17 at the Marin Civic Center, having won the preliminary competition in New York. The Quintessential Five was founded in 2012 in the Republic of Georgia by Buka Kartozia. The repertoire of the group mainly consists of ancient Georgian folklore and classical music with jazz. Each piece stands out with rhythmical difficulty and harmonic complexity. Before competing in New York the group won competitions at the Leipzig A Cappella Festival (Germany) and took second place at International A Cappella Competition Graz (Austria) in 2013. San Marin singers will be providing lunch and then participating in an exchange concert where San Marin's Concert Choir, Jazz Choirs, and the Quintessential Five will sing for each other. Some other classes and parents have also been invited to attend the concert.
