Scaring Hunger - One Student at a Time

Good Shepherd Lutheran School Takes Action and Scares Hunger by Hosting a Food Drive on Halloween

No one should go hungry, but almost 900 million around the world do every day – some of them in our own backyard. In the United States, over 15 million children live in poverty, often unsure of where their next meal will come from.

This Halloween, Good Shepherd Lutheran School is joining forces with Free the Children and taking action to ‘SCARE HUNGER’ and holding a food drive during their annual Halloween parade(s).

“This is a wonderful educational campaign,” says Executive Director of School, Karen Kane. “Nearly 50 million Americans live in poverty and free or price-reduced lunches are provided to over 30 million children in America every day. This is a serious problem, and getting our students to take action is truly powerful.”
