Sheriff Honored for 45 Years of Service in Marin [Photos]

Sheriff Robert T. Doyle recognized for commitment to the county.

Marin County Sheriff Robert Doyle was honored Tuesday for his decades-long commitment to the County of Marin.

Doyle, who has now been with the county for 45 years, was recognized during the board of supervisors meeting. It was part of the annual “length of service” awards.

Doyle was the only one in the ceremony to be with Marin County for so long. Others were recognized for their service of 30, 35 and 40 years.

The sheriff has been at the helm of the department since March 1996, when he was first appointed. Since then, he’s won re-election every four years beginning in 1998.

He started out as a deputy sheriff in November 1969.
