Thieves Steal Lottery Tickets, Cash From Blackpoint Deli

The Marin County Sheriff's Office is investigating a brazen burglary at Rossi's Deli in Blackpoint that occurred early Sunday.

According to Lt. Mark Hale, two men smashed the front door of the eatery, tied a rope or a chain to the ATM machine, then tried to haul it away. When that proved unsuccessful, the thieves broke open the cash register and made off with an unspecified amount of cash and eight rolls of lottery tickets. The total loss, including damage to the store, is estimated at $10,000.

Sheriff's deputies say they may have a witness to the burglary and are continuing to investigate.
