Want to Host a Foreign Exchange Student for the Experience of a Lifetime?

Do you want a life-changing experience? This is an opportunity for you to share the culture and way of life of an American family with a high school student from another country.  Cultural Homestay International (CHI) is a non-profit educational program and licensed by the State of California. We invite you to be a host family. CHI Host Families provide room and board for high school exchange students, and treat the student as a member of the family. CHI students pay all of their own fees to cover flights, insurance, tuition costs, and spending money.

In addition to sharing your family life with the student, you will learn about another part of our world, first hand.  Students bring their enthusiasm about America and you provide a comfortable, nurturing and safe ‘home away from home.

The CHI program has high school students come from over 20 different countries.  CHI provides experienced local coordinators to guide and support you and the student through the entire program.
