Weekend Planner: Nerf Wars, Movie in the Park and More

Check out what's going on around town this weekend. Know of something else happening? Add it to our event calendar!

Lace up your running shoes Saturday for the 15th annual Relay for Life of Novato, supporting cancer research and the American Cancer Society. The opening ceremony starts at 10am at San Jose Middle School and continues all day long.

Saturday evening, catch a movie at Pioneer Park, courtesy of Novato’s Multicultural Commission. The movie this time is "42--The Jackie Robinson Story," a 2013 biographical film about the life of baseball player Jackie Robinson, the first African-American to play in American Major League Baseball. The free movie starts at dark (around 8:30pm), so bring blankets, pillows and snacks and learn about a Robinson’s contributions to baseball.

On Sunday, grab a nerf gun and head to San Ramon Elementary School, 45 San Ramon Way, for some friendly nerf games starting 2pm. Bring a Nerf blaster, darts, and eye protection and get ready to have some fun. Free.
