2 Men Stabbed Along Oceanside Beachfront

Police said four suspects fled in a dark-colored SUV.

OCEANSIDE, CA – Two men were stabbed in an apparently gang-related attack late Friday along a beach in Oceanside, police said Saturday.

The incident happened around 11:30 p.m. in the 200 block of The Strand South, in an area immediately adjacent to the shoreline and Tyson Street Park, Oceanside Police Lt. Kedrick Sadler said.

A group of about four men approached the two victims and attacked them.

"They basically were just jumped, and both victims received numerous stab injuries to the upper body," Sadler said.

Police believe the assailants were gang members, though the victims were not believed to have any gang affiliation, Sadler said.

The four suspects were reported to have fled in a dark-colored SUV.

The victims were taken to a hospital and were expected to survive.
