2 Rescued After Vehicle Teeters Off Bridge In Oceanside Crash
Crews found both vehicles overturned, with one resting against a light post and hanging above a culvert.
OCEANSIDE, CA — Two people were rescued after a vehicle overturned and partially teetered off a bridge in a two-car crash late Sunday, authorities said.
The collision was reported around 10:30 p.m. at El Camino Real and Mesa Drive in Oceanside, according to the Oceanside Fire Department.
Crews found both vehicles overturned, with one resting against a light post and hanging above a culvert. Each vehicle had one occupant.

"Due to the precarious position of the vehicle on the bridge, fire crews stabilized it prior to initiating extrication operations," officials said in a news release. "Specialized extrication equipment was then used to access the patient and safely remove him from the vehicle."
Both people were in stable condition and were taken to local hospitals. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
