2 Servicemen ID'd In Fatal Oceanside Crash
A 21 and 19-year-old were both killed in the Thursday crash off I-5, near Camp Pendleton.

OCEANSIDE, CA — The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office officially identified two service members killed last week in a car crash on Interstate 5 in the Oceanside area.
According to the medical examiner's statement, Jacob Johnson, 21, and Eduardo Hernandez Zambrano, 19, were identified following notification of next of kin.
On Thursday, shortly before 9 p.m., the driver of a 2016 Hyundai sedan—believed to be Johnson—lost control as he drove on the southbound side of I-5 near Cocklerburr Road, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.

Both men died at the scene.
According to CHP logs, the sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed along southbound I-5 lanes when the crash occurred.

The sedan veered off the freeway, striking a tractor-trailer parked on the shoulder, fatally injuring both Johnson and his front-seat passenger, 19-year-old Hernandez Zambrano, the medical examiner reported. It was not specified which branch or branch of the military that Hernandez Zambrano and Johnson served. However, both were listed as actively serving in San Diego.
