2 Women Sexually Assaulted at Camp Pendleton, NCIS Says; Person of Interest Sought

BREAKING: The person of interest was seen with two men who are suspected in the sexual assaults at Del Mar Beach aboard Camp Pendleton.

CAMP PENDLETON, CA — A person of interest is sought in connection with an alleged sexual assault that reportedly occurred at Camp Pendleton on Del Mar Beach, authorities said Tuesday.

According to San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, two male suspects sexually assaulted two women at 3:55 p.m. on Thursday, May 26 on the beach.

In an effort to locate the two unidentified men, NCIS and Crime Stoppers released surveillance images Tuesday of a third man seen with the two suspects shortly before the sexual assault allegedly took place.

The person of interest is described as a Latino man in his mid-20s who is between 5 feet 8 and 5 feet 10 inches tall and has a thin build, a medium complexion, dark brown hair cut short in military-style, dark brown eyes and a tattoo of unknown lettering on his left shoulder.

The suspects in the sexual assault were both described as Latino men in their mid-20s. The first suspect has a heavy build, short dark hair and brown eyes, some facial hair and a deep voice, authorities said, while the only other identifiable information about the second suspect was that he has a medium build.

Anyone with information on the identity or location of the suspects or the person of interest was urged to call NCIS at 760-725-7854 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at 888-580-8477. Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in this case. Anonymous email and text messages can be sent via Sdcrimestoppers.org.
