3 Pedestrians Struck, 1 Killed, By Car In Oceanside

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.

OCEANSIDE, CA — One pedestrian was killed and two others were injured after being struck by a vehicle over the weekend in Oceanside, authorities said.

The crash happened shortly after 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the 4100 block of Oceanside Boulevard, according to the Oceanside Police Department.

A gray Toyota Corolla was traveling eastbound on Oceanside Boulevard and collided with three pedestrians who were crossing the roadway about 100 yards west of the intersection of College Boulevard, Sgt. Clint Bussey said.

All three pedestrians were taken to local hospitals. One of the victims was pronounced dead at Tri-City Medical Center, Bussey said. The other two were taken to Palomar Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The identity of the pedestrian who died was withheld pending family notification.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.

"He was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol and speed was not a factor," Bussey said.
