5.3 Magnitude Earthquake Rattles San Diego Region

USGS reports a magnitude 5.3 earthquake occurred 11km west of Calipatria, CA. The quake was recorded today at 10:55 a.m.

OCEANSIDE, CA — Did you feel the earthquake in Oceanside? The magnitude 5.3 earthquake was reported by the USGS today at 10:55 a.m. The quake occurred 11km west of Calipatria, CA and reached a depth of 5.8km. No damage or injuries have been reported at this time.

The USGS and its partners monitor and report earthquakes, assess earthquake impacts and hazards, and perform research into the causes and effects of earthquakes.
