The “four point approach” consists of the following committees: Promotion, Design, Economic Restructuring and Organization Committee.
I am looking for volunteers that have a passion for their downtown to serve on these committees. I'm here to improve relationships with our local partners and leaders of our downtown.
Patch: How will SpringHill Suites hotel affect downtown Oceanside?
Escarcega: Springhill Suites will bring tourists to our downtown that may have never seen our unique businesses and attractions. Furthermore, the hotel will bring a different demographic that will find Oceanside to be a great destination for family vacations.
Patch: What are your ideas about the Artists Alley Design?
Escarcega: Our Design Committee will be looking to revitalize Artists Alley.
Our idea is to bring it back to life by adding more lighting and landscaping and recruit local artists to do monthly art shows that will highlight the local talent in the area and possibly recruit businesses that will support the arts in our community.
Patch: How do you imagine Oceanside to look in 5 years from now?
Escarcega: In five years, I imagine downtown Oceanside as a destination where everyone that visits our eateries, shops, hotels and service providers can have a great time.
